Reserve Collection
The Reserve Collection comprises between 500 and 600 titles, and includes the latest editions of textbooks on the prescribed reading lists of College students. The Collection also contains expensive texts not openly accessible for security reasons.
Location
The Reserve Collection is housed behind the Enquiries Desk on Level 2 of the Academic Centre.
How to access the Collection
Items are available for borrowing when the Enquiries Desk is staffed. There are three loan options within the Reserve Collection – Reserve, Short Reserve and Shared Semester Loan.
Reserve Loans
Reserve items include latest edition textbooks. Items may be borrowed for two weeks and renewed once if no one has placed a hold on the item. After one renewal they must be returned.
Short Reserve Loans
Short Reserve items include the most popular textbooks. Items are available for borrowing when the Enquiries Desk is staffed. Items may be borrowed for two days only and may not be renewed.
Shared Semester Loans
Shared Semester items include latest edition textbooks. Items may be loaned for the entire semester for use by a small cohort of students from the same College (maximum of 5 members). The item is checked out to one student from the cohort (the Responsible Contact) who coordinates distribution of the item and keeps track of its whereabouts. The Responsible Contact must return the item by the due date at the end of semester.
