Student Resources
The library stocks most of the textbooks prescribed for undergraduate courses, with new resources regularly purchased to meet student needs and requests, including those of post-graduate students.
The library also offers research assistance, as well as specialised equipment such as stethoscopes, a full skeleton, chemistry modelling kits and blood pressure cuffs which students may borrow.
GENERAL COLLECTION
The General Collection comprises textbooks, reference titles such as encyclopaedias, dictionaries, study and travel guides, newspapers, periodicals and equipment.
RESERVE COLLECTION
The Reserve Collection comprises in-demand and specialist titles.
This includes the latest editions of textbooks on the prescribed reading lists of College students.
AUDIO-VISUAL COLLECTION
The Audio-Visual Collection comprises music CDs and DVD movies.
The range of titles includes Australian classics, foreign language and international award winning movies and documentaries.
RECREATIONAL FICTION COLLECTION
The Recreational Fiction Collection comprises recent fiction titles for reading and relaxation.
Other titles of literary note are shelved in the General Collection.
AUSTRALIAN LITERATURE COLLECTION
The Australian Literature Collection comprises titles produced in Australia and written by Australian authors. Genres include Australian poetry, drama, fiction, essays, speeches, letters and humour.
The Australian Literature Collection is housed on Level 2 of the Academic Centre. It is accessible to users 24 hours a day for reading and borrowing via the DIY checkout system. Items may be borrowed for two weeks and renewed if no-one has placed a hold on the item.
MAGAZINE COLLECTION
The Library subscribes to over thirty educational and popular magazine titles.
The Magazine Collection is housed on Level 2 of the Academic Centre. It is accessible to users 24 hours a day for reading and borrowing via the DIY checkout system.
Items may be borrowed for two weeks and renewed if no-one has placed a hold on the item.
NEWSPAPERS
The Library subscribes to weekday issues of The Age and The Australian newspapers.
Newspapers are on display in Level 2 of the Academic Centre.
They are unable to be borrowed and are not permitted to be removed from the building.
EQUIPMENT
A wide variety of equipment is available for in-house use and restricted borrowing.
The equipment ranges from audio players and recorders to binding and laminating machines. Even a full skeleton is available.
